PassGolden (“we”) respects your privacy. This policy explains what we collect and how we use it.

What we collect

Practice progress (quiz scores, study-plan checkboxes, spaced-repetition state) is stored only in your browser (local storage). We do not upload it.

Contact details you submit — such as your name, email, and ZIP code in a quote or guide form — are stored so we can follow up and, with your consent, match you with relevant insurance or course partners.

Driver deadlines you save — if you add dates (license or registration expiry, smog, insurance renewal, a teen’s birthday) to your account, we store them so we can remind you before each one. They are tied to your account, protected by row-level security, and you can delete any of them at any time from your account.

Basic analytics — if enabled, we use privacy-respecting analytics to understand which pages are useful. We never put personal data in URLs.

Cookies, affiliate links & advertising partners

Some pages contain affiliate / referral links to licensed third-party partners (for example traffic schools, driver-education providers, and insurance comparison services). We work with affiliate networks — including CJ Affiliate (Commission Junction LLC / Epsilon) and Impact.com — that use cookies and similar tracking technologies (pixels, device identifiers) to record that a visit or purchase was referred from PassGolden, so the partner can credit us a commission. We may earn a commission at no extra cost to you.

These networks act as independent data controllers for the click, device, and transaction data they collect through their tracking technologies. You can review their practices in the CJ Affiliate privacy notice and the Impact.com privacy notice.

Your cookie choices & opt-out

Affiliate and analytics cookies are optional — the free study tools work without them. You can:

• decline non-essential cookies in our cookie banner (or by not clicking affiliate links);
• block or delete cookies in your browser settings at any time;
• opt out of interest-based advertising via the DAA WebChoices and NAI opt-out tools;
• use the opt-out mechanisms in the CJ and Impact privacy notices linked above.

How we use it

To operate and improve the tools, to respond to you, and to connect you with partners you ask to be matched with. We do not sell your personal data.

Sharing

We share contact details only with the licensed partner(s) relevant to the request you submitted (e.g., an insurance lead network or a traffic-school partner), and with service providers that help us operate the site.

Your choices

You can use all free tools without an account. You can clear device-stored progress any time from the in-app settings, and you can ask us to delete contact details you submitted by emailing hello@passgolden.com.

California privacy rights (CCPA/CPRA)

Most PassGolden visitors are California residents. Under the California Consumer Privacy Act (as amended by the CPRA), you have the right to:

• know and access the personal information we hold about you;
• request deletion or correction of that information;
• opt out of any “sale” or “sharing” of personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising; and
• not be discriminated against for exercising these rights.

We do not sell your personal information for money. When you click an affiliate link, our partner networks (CJ Affiliate, Impact.com) set cookies that may constitute “sharing” under the CPRA. You can opt out of this by declining non-essential cookies in our cookie banner, by not clicking affiliate links, or via the DAA/NAI tools linked above. To exercise any California right, email hello@passgolden.com; we will verify your request before responding. You may use an authorized agent to make a request on your behalf.

Where your data is processed

PassGolden is operated from the United States and your information is processed on servers located in the U.S. Our affiliate networks and service providers may also process data in the U.S. and other countries under their own privacy notices, linked above.

Children

Teen permit prep is intended to be used with a parent or guardian. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
